19-Year-Old Boy Stabbed to Death in Delhi’s Shahdara; Union Minister Harsh Malhotra Vows Strict Action
New Delhi, India – June 28, 2025:
A 19-year-old boy named Yash was stabbed to death following a road-related scuffle in Delhi’s Shahdara area late on June 27, triggering widespread outrage.
Union Minister Harsh Malhotra condemned the incident, calling it a “tragic” event and confirmed that strict legal action would be taken.
“It is a tragic incident. A minor scuffle over a scooter collision turned into a big fight, where three people killed 19-year-old Yash. The police have arrested all the accused. They will not be spared,” said Malhotra in a statement to ANI.
Incident Details
The incident occurred near Ambedkar Park, Shiv Mandir, in Rani Garden, Shahdara. Yash had gone to pick up his cousin, Aman Sharma, when a confrontation with a person named Amaan escalated.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shahdara Prashant Gautam, Amaan allegedly stabbed Yash in the lower back during the altercation.
Yash was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The Delhi Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the murder:
- Amaan (with a prior criminal record)
- Lucky (no previous record)
- One minor
Investigation and Denials
A man named Gaffar, whose name surfaced during preliminary inquiry, denied any involvement:
“There are CCTV cameras at the deceased’s place. You can check them. I’ve never talked to Yash or his father. I don’t know the accused either,” he said.
The police have registered a case of murder, and further investigation is ongoing to uncover full details and possible accomplices.
