Bombay High Court ne ek Public Interest Litigation (PIL) dismiss kar di, jo Italian luxury fashion brand Prada ke khilaaf daal ki gayi thi.

Yeh case Kolhapuri chappal ke design ke alleged unauthorized use ko lekar tha

PIL mein claim kiya gaya tha ki Prada ne apne Spring/Summer 2026 Men’s collection mein Milan Fashion Week (22 June 2025) ke dauraan ‘toe-ring sandals’ showcase kiye, jo GI-tagged Kolhapuri chappal se “deceptively similar” hain. Yeh sandals Rs 1 lakh per pair ke price par sell kiye ja rahe the

Chief Justice Alok Aradhe aur Justice Sandeep Marne ki bench ne PIL ko dismiss karte hue kaha ki petitioners directly affected parties nahi hain aur na hi GI ke registered proprietors hain

Court ne yeh bhi note kiya ki agar koi genuinely aggrieved person hai, toh woh alag se lawsuit file kar sakta hai.
