Dangal cake on Independence Day
Dubai bakery prepares world’s most expensive cake to pay tribute to India’s 71th Independence Day
The world's most expensive cake has been prepared by Dubai's BroadwayBakery which took close to a month and over 1,200 man hours to bake the $40,000 cake (approx. Rs.25 lakhs).
It features a scene from Aamir Khan's Bollywood movie Dangal besides his young daughters, who play the role of Geeta and Babita practicing Dangal (wrestling) in a makeshift Akhada (practicing ground for wrestlers).
The cake measures 4 feet tall from the base to the tip of Aamir Khan’s head.
The fresh sponge weighs 30kg while the overall weight comes to 54kg. The cake can comfortably serve 240 guests. Each medal on the cake is coated with 75gms of edible gold as per the (unnamed) client's request.
Forbes Magazine reported Dangal is the first Indian movie in the history to earn Rs. 2000 crore (307 million USD) worldwide after it earned Rs 2.5 crore on its 53rd day at the China box office. –
