Antarik Suraksha Padak.His first assignment (1989-92), was in the Naxalite affected Chandrapur District as ASP Rajura.At Solapur, Shri. Nagrale , as DCP (1992-94) , was instrumental in creation of new Commissionerate of Solapur.He successfully controlled post Babri masjid Communal riots in Solapur city in 1992.As SP, CID, Crime (1996-1998) he investigated the MPSC paper leakage case which was spread over to several parts of Maharashtra, and the Anjanabai Gavit-multiple children kidnapping and murder cases.Hemant Nagrale proceeded on the deputation to CBI (Mar.1998- Sept 2002) and was posted as S.P. BSFC, CBI, Mumbai and later as DIG, CBI, New Delhi.He supervised and completed the investigations of several cases like ;Rs.130 Crores Bank of India case of Ketan Parekh Scam, Madhaopura Co-op Bank Scam (Rs.1800 Crores) and Harshad Mehta Cases 2001 (Rs.400 Crores).His services, as the Staff Officer of Shri. S.S. Puri, who was appointed as DGP, SIT who was to probe the Telgi Stamp Paper Scam as directed by Hon. Bombay High Court, was deeply commended for detailed research and matching scrutiny.As Addl. CP, East Region, (Jun 2007-2008), he once again showcased his skill in handling the communal unrest in sensitive areas.On promotion he was posted as Spl. IGP and Director (Vig- & Sec.) in MSEDCL (Jue 2008-Aug 2010). His tenure oversaw better enforcement & 25% increase in revenue of the company by reducing Power theft cases.26th Nov. 2008 witnessed the worst terrorist attack in Mumbai. While the terrorists struck, Hemant Nagrale, even though on deputation to MSEDCL , ventured out of his residence and helped the injured & dead to be shifted to the nearby hospital. On lookout for the suspicious objects, he spotted and inspected the RDX bag and personally removed it to a safer place with and summoned Bomb Disposal Squad.He with four policemen entered Hotel Taj where they helped remove number of injured and dead persons and shifted them to hospital. He coordinated with senior officers and he deployed the staff. With the help of the staff he could rescue hundreds of people trapped inside the shopping plaza of Hotel Taj.During his tenure as Spl. IGP (Adm) in DG office, He revamped the MPKAY Scheme (Health Scheme of Maharashtra Police) and reduced the expenditure by Rs 10 Corers in the year 2011-12 while making it more effective & useful. He coordinated with MHA, New Delhi and initiated & executed the Central Police Canteen Scheme on par with CSD Canteens and thereby setting up 40 Central Police Canteens all over Maharashtra.During his tenure as Joint Commissioner of Police (Admn), Mumbai , He drafted the residential quarters’ allotment policy ensuring transparency in quarter allotment for Mumbai City, which was highly appreciated by constabulary.For a brief period in 2014, Nagrale held additional charge as Commissioner of Police Mumbai. He smoothly managed the Rasta Roko movement and was appreciated by Home Minister.From May 2016 to July 2018 He was posted as Commissioner of Police NaviMumbai where he controlled the law & order by effectively dealing with the situations. Successfully handled the Maratha Reservation agitations, whose focal point was Navi Mumbai.He was elevated to DG rank from October 2018 and entrusted with responsibility of looking after the Forensic Science Laboratories in the State.Nagrale is an avid golfer and tennis player and plays most of the sports with proficiency and is also black belt in Judo and won Medals in All India Police Games.Gallinews.com
