MNLU Mumbai ke students ne apne hostel ke kharab wiring aur poor facilities ko lekar protest kiya. Students ne bataya ki ek electric fault ki wajah se hostel ke ek wall-fan jal gaya, aur faulty wiring ke karan unke laptops bhi damage ho gaye.
Pichle saal, students ko Powai ke MTNL building se Kanjurmarg ke YourSpace-managed hostel mein shift kiya gaya tha. Ab ek room mein pehle ke mukable zyada students rehte hain—kabhi 3 aur kabhi 6 students ek room mein.
Paani ki supply bhi ek problem hai. Pehle packaged Bisleri water diya jaata tha, lekin ab RO water diya ja raha hai jisme chlorine jaise smell hai. Kuch students paani ke wajah se beemar bhi pad gaye hain.
Protest ke baad, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dilip Ukey ne students se mulaqat ki aur assurance diya ki is semester ke end-semester exams online honge. University ne ek fact-finding committee bhi banayi hai, saath hi hostel ka fire audit aur electrical audit bhi chal raha hai.
Registrar Prof. Prakash N. Chaudhary ne bataya ki ab hostel mein dedicated electrician aur plumber turant available honge. Electrical gadgets ko replace karne ka kaam shuru ho gaya hai taki future mein incidents na hoon
