Notice of Traffic Arrangements for Moharram Processions on 17/07/2024

On the 10th day of Moharram (Sham-e-Ghariba), many processions have been organized on the following routes: Jainbia Hall, Pakmodia Street to JJ Junction, Ramchandra Bhatt Marg, Nurbaug Junction, Shivdas Chapsi Marg, Mazgaon Circle via Hancock Bridge, Dr. Mascarenhas Road – Rahmtabad Cemetery Byculla. Many people are expected to attend the aforesaid processions, which will lead to traffic congestion on the said routes and the routes leading thereunto. Therefore, to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, the following arrangements have been made:

### A) Road Closures and Alternate Routes
The following routes shall be closed on 17/07/2024 from 15:30 hrs. onwards till the completion of the processions. Alternate routes will be provided for motorists.

1. *Ramchandra Bhatt Marg*
– *Closure*: From Dr. Alima Mohammad Iqbal Chowk (Sir JJ. Junction) to Noor Baug Junction.
– *Alternate Route*: Vehicles moving from JJ. Junction to Noor Baug Junction shall be diverted through Bhendi Bazar Junction towards Carnac-P D’mello Road.

2. *Mohammad Ali Road*
– *Closure*: From Maulana Mohammad Ali Johar Chowk (Bhendi Bazar) to Dr. Alima Mohammad Iqbal Chowk (Sir JJ. Junction).
– *Alternate Route*: Vehicles moving from Gol Deol to Maulana Mohammad Ali Johar Chowk (Bhendi Bazar Junction) shall be diverted to Bapu Khote Street (near Pydhonie Police Station).

3. *Maulana Shaukatali Road*
– *Closure*: From Don Taki Junction to Dr. Alima Mohammad Iqbal Chowk (Sir JJ. Junction).
– *Alternate Route*: Vehicles moving from Maulana Shukatali Marg towards Dr. Alima Mohammad Iqbal Chowk (Sir JJ. Junction) via Don Taki Junction shall be diverted from Don Taki Junction to left and right on Duncan Road.

4. *SVP Road*
– *Closure*: From Maulana Mohammad Ali Johar Chowk (Bhendi Bazar Junction) to ST Junction.
– *Alternate Route*: Vehicles moving from Bhendi Bazar Junction via Mandvi Junction shall go towards Mohammad Ali – CSMT – Avtarsingh Bedi Chowk – P D’mello Road (Wadi Bandar Junction) – Kaklij Chowk – Dockyard Station – Barrister Nath Pai Road.

5. *Shivdas Chapsi Marg*
– *Closure*: From Noor Baug Junction to Maharana Pratap Chowk.
– *Alternate Route*: Vehicles moving from Noor Baug Junction towards Dr. Maheshwari Road (near Sandhurst Road Railway Station) shall be diverted via Wadi Bandar Bridge to P D’mello Road.

6. *Dr. Mascarenhas Road and Shivdas Chapsi Marg*
– *Closure*: From Hancock Bridge to Mustafa Bazar Junction.
– *Alternate Routes*:
– Vehicles moving from Dr. Mascarenhas Road towards Mazgaon Circle shall be diverted via Mustafa Bazar – Sant Savata Marg – Reay Road Bridge Slip Road – Barrister Nath Pai Marg – P D’mello Road towards South Mumbai.
– Vehicles moving from Sheth Motisha Junction towards Parab Chowk shall take a U-turn at Sheth Motisha Junction – Sant Savta Junction – Pratibha Prabhakar Mhatre Chowk (Mustafa Bazar Junction) – Reay Road Bridge Slip Road – Barrister Nath Pai Marg – P D’mello Road – Carnac Bandar – Avtarsingh Bedi Chowk towards South Mumbai.

7. *Ram Bhau Bhogale Marg*
– *Closure*: From Tank Bunder Junction to Mustafa Bazar Junction.
– *Alternate Route*: Vehicles moving from Rambhau Marg shall be diverted from Tank Bandar Junction to Barrister Nath Pai Marg.

8. *Jinabhai Mulji Rathod Marg*
– *Closure*: From Kaklij Chowk to Hancock Bridge.
– *Alternate Route*: Vehicles moving towards Hancock Bridge via Jinabhai Mulji Rathod Marg shall be diverted from Naklj Chowk via Dockyard Junction to Barrister Nath Pai Marg – Reay Road Junction – Sant Savta Marg towards Dr. B.G.T. Road.

9. *Bahantsingh Dhodi Marg (Nesbit Road)*
– *Closure*: From Dockyard Junction to Nesbit Junction.
– *Alternate Routes*:
– Vehicles moving from Dockyard Junction to Dr. B.A. Road shall be diverted from Dockyard Junction to Barrister Nath Pai Marg – Reay Road Slip Road – Sant Savata Road.
– Vehicles moving from Nesbit Junction shall be diverted from Sheth Motisha Junction – Sant Savta Junction – Sant Savata Marg – Mustafa Bazar Junction – Reay Road Junction – Barrister Nath Pai Marg to their desired destination.

### B) No Parking Zones
There shall be ‘No Parking’ on the following routes from 17/07/2024, 00:05 hrs.:

1. Imamwada Road – Metro Optician to Mughal Masjid.
2. SVP Road – Bhendi Bazar Junction to ST Junction.
3. Mohammad Ali Road (IR Road) / Sir JJ Marg (Bhendi Bazar Junction to JJ Junction).
4. Maulana Mohammad Ali Johar Chowk (Bhendi Bazar) to Dr. Alima Mohammad Iqbal Chowk (Sir JJ. Junction).
5. Maulana Azad Road.
6. Maulana Shaukatali Road.
7. Samantbhai Nanji Marg (Jail Road) – Char Null Junction to Noor Baug Junction.
8. Ramchandra Bhatt Marg – Dr. Alima Mohammad Iqbal Chowk (Sir JJ. Junction) to Noor Baug Junction.
9. Shivdas Chapsi Marg – Noor Baug Junction to Maharana Pratap Chowk.
10. Mascarenhas Road / Rambhau Bhogle Marg – Pratibha Prabhakar Mhatre Chowk (Mustafa Bazar Junction) to Hancock Bridge.
11. Balvantsingh Dhodi Marg – Dockyard Junction to P Ismail Merchant Chowk (Nesbit Junction).
12. Sant Savata Marg – Sant Savta Junction to Reay Road Junction.
13. Sheth Motisha Junction (Love Lane) to Parab Chowk.
14. Ram Bhau Bhogale Marg – Tank Bunder Junction to Mustafa Bazar Junction.

*Note:* These arrangements are made to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the processions. Motorists are requested to follow the alternate routes and adhere to the ‘No Parking’ zones to avoid inconvenience.
