Mumbai ke Juhu mein ₹1,200 crore ka land scam ka case saamne aaya hai, jisme Congress MP aur Mumbai Congress chief Varsha Gaikwad ne BMC aur SRA pe corruption ka bada ilzaam lagaya hai
Gaikwad ke mutabiq, City Survey No. 207, Juhu Barfiwala Lane ka 48,407 sq. ft. plot, jo BMC ke Class IV safai workers ke liye housing ke liye reserved tha, ab private builders ke haathon mein chala gaya hai. Iske liye unhone judicial probe ki maang ki hai.
Gaikwad ne bataya ki 85 eligible residents ko ineligible declare karke unke ghar tod diye gaye, bina koi alternate housing diye. Yeh plot 1965 mein BMC workers ke liye banaya gaya tha, lekin 2008-2011 mein SRA scheme ke under aur 2021 mein Ashraya Yojana ke Under illegally approve kiya gaya.
Unhone BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani ko letter likh kar construction stop aur involved officials pe action ki maang ki.
