Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Presented With ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’
The 53rd al Dai al Mutlaq and leader of the worldwide Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, was presented with ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’, the country’s highest civilian award in a Special Investiture Ceremony on Tuesday, 5th December at Aiwan e Sadr (President House).
The award was presented by the Honourable President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi, in the presence of Governor Sindh H.E Kamran Tessori and Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, among other notable government officials along with Shahzada Idris Badruddin, brother of His Holiness, Shahzada Jaferussadiq Imaduddin, Shahzada Taha Najmuddin and Shahzada Husain Burhanuddin, sons of His Holiness and senior members of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
Syedna Saifuddin has been conferred with the prestigious award in recognition of his continued contribution to social services such as health, education and the environment, and for promoting global peace and harmony. During the award ceremony, Syedna was praised for his diverse initiatives for fostering socio-economic development in Pakistan. The award has been previously presented to distinguished heads of state such as the Prime Minister of Malaysia and the Emir of Qatar, among others.
Regarded as an ‘Ambassador of Peace and Goodwill’, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin has dedicated his life to the service of the community and the betterment of society at large, with a special emphasis on cultural and socio-economic development. Throughout his travels across the world, Syedna encourages community members to fully integrate into the countries they live in, encouraging them to take pride both in their Islamic heritage as well as the heritage and achievements of the countries they live in.
Syedna arrived in Karachi on 20th November upon the invitation of the Government of Pakistan and Dawoodi Bohra community members. He arrived in Islamabad on Monday 4th December after a brief stopover in Hyderabad. During his stay in Karachi, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin inaugurated the H.H. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin School of Law at Karachi University. The initiative comes in succession to a line of endeavors undertaken to promote educational progress in Pakistan. Like his predecessors, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin has always held a special regard for Pakistan and continues to pray for the nation’s prosperity and development.
