Akhilesh Yadav Alleges Land Grabbing in Gorakhpur, Says “Corridor of Custody” Needed, Not Heritage
Lucknow, India – June 28, 2025:
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a fierce attack on the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government, accusing it of large-scale land grabbing in Gorakhpur and other districts, aided by bulldozers, police, and BJP workers.
Addressing a press conference, Yadav said:
“Wherever the BJP sees land, they seize it. With the help of administration and local officials, bulldozers are being used to harass people, just like in the case of SP leader Mata Prasad Pandey. BJP workers were literally in the bulldozer’s bucket.”
“Corridor of Custody, Not Heritage”: Yadav Slams Gorakhpur Project
Yadav alleged that the much-publicized Gorakhpur development corridor is a cover for corruption:
“If the truth of Gorakhpur comes out, then a corridor of custody will have to be built there, not one of heritage.”
He criticised the government for failing to deliver on its metro promise, stating:
“Despite 11 years of BJP at the Centre and 9 years in UP, there’s no metro in Gorakhpur. But land acquisition and backdoor deals continue.”
Demands for Market-Rate Compensation
Yadav accused the government of offering low compensation for public land, while allegedly awarding inflated compensation for land owned by BJP-linked individuals:
“We demand fair compensation at market value. But instead, a loot system benefits a few BJP members while the public suffers.”
He claimed that Ayodhya and Prayagraj have already rejected BJP in Lok Sabha polls and warned that Gorakhpur and Mathura may be next.
Allegations of Scams and Sexual Assault Cover-Ups
Yadav listed several other alleged scams, including:
- Sisodia Nursing Home scam
- Irregularities in medical college admissions and degrees
- Land grabbing within 800 meters of his rally site
He also raised a serious accusation:
“A 17-year-old YouTuber was raped, and a close BJP associate is involved. Yet the government stays silent.”
“This Is Like Hitler’s Time” – Symbolic Policing Alleged
Drawing historical parallels, Yadav said:
“In Hitler’s time, men in uniforms did the work. Here, they don’t wear uniforms—they carry party symbols.”
He contrasted this with SP’s governance, where farmers received fair compensation during development projects like the Lucknow Metro and Expressway.
Vanishing Ponds and Satellite Evidence
Yadav ended with a jibe, highlighting how satellite maps no longer show ponds in Lucknow:
“The ponds visible until 2017 are gone. To verify, you may need to go to America’s satellite data.”
He reaffirmed that if SP returns to power, it will build a true development corridor in Gorakhpur, emphasizing the legacy of Mulayam Singh Yadav in industrial development.
