Belgium ke province East Flanders ki provincial government ne ek bada decision lete hue provincial schools me students ke liye headscarf (hijab) aur doosri religious, political ya ideological symbols par ban ko approve kar diya hai. Ye rule academic year 2026–2027 se lagu hoga aur school regulations ka hissa banega. Government ka kehna hai ki is step ka aim education me neutrality aur equality maintain karna hai, taaki school ek aisi jagah bane jahan sab students khud ko barabar mehsoos karein.
Is decision ke baad Ghent shehar me protests shuru ho gaye hain, jahan logon ne ise religious freedom aur personal choice ke khilaf bataya.
