Maharashtra me dog bite cases ka tezi se badh raha hai. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ne Wednesday ko state assembly me bataya ki pichle 6 saal me 30 lakh se zyada dog bite cases report huye hain. Saath hi 2021 se 2023 ke beech 30 logon ki rabies se death bhi confirm hui hai.
Shinde ne yeh information Shiv Sena (UBT) ke MLA Sunil Prabhu ke sawaal ka jawab dete hue di, jab rising stray dog population ko lekar chinta jataayi gayi — khaskar Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Kalyan-Dombivli jaise shahron me.
Shinde ne kaha ki state government ne local bodies ko Animal Birth Control (ABC) aur Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) programmes ko speed-up karne ke orders diye hain. Yeh instructions Supreme Court ke August 2024 ke guidelines ke accordance me hain.
