United Nations General Assembly ne 1994 mein is din ko indigenous groups ke needs aur rights, jaise unki identity, lifestyle, aur traditional natural resources ke liye awareness ke liye declare kiya tha.

Aarey ke 27 tribal villages, jo Warli, Malhar Koli, aur Kokna communities se hain, ne ek march nikala, jismein unhone traditional adivasi tarpa music aur dance ke saath vrikshabandhan kiya, jahan trees par rakhis bandhi aur forest protection ka pledge liya.
