Action ahead of CJP’s ‘Tiranga Yatra’: Delhi Police issues notice to Abhijit Deepke
CJP has announced a ‘Lahara Do Tiranga’ (Hoist the Tricolour) event in Delhi. However, even before the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ could take place, the Delhi Police arrived at the residence of CJP founder Abhijit Deepke. The police served a notice to Deepke regarding the event, which was scheduled for 5:00 PM at Central Park in Connaught Place. In the notice, the Delhi Police cited Section 163 of the BNSS (Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita), the requirement for permission from the NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council), and matters currently pending before the Delhi High Court. The police have warned that any violation of these instructions could lead to legal action. Meanwhile, Abhijit Deepke maintains that his objective is not to hold a rally or a demonstration, but simply to visit Central Park and hoist the Tricolour. CJP intends to hold this event to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and to protest against the judicial custody of Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das.
