Akhilesh promises to build a temple for Lord Vishwakarma; BJP asks why he didn’t build it when he was in power.
Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has promised to declare a holiday on Vishwakarma Jayanti if his party forms the government in Uttar Pradesh. He also announced that a grand and beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Vishwakarma would be constructed at the Gomti Riverfront in Lucknow. Akhilesh Yadav remarked that Lord Vishwakarma undertook various construction projects, ranging from the building of the city of Dwarka to works for the gods and goddesses. He reiterated that, in addition to declaring a holiday on Vishwakarma Jayanti, a magnificent temple for the deity would be built at the Lucknow riverfront. The BJP has launched an attack on Akhilesh Yadav over this statement, questioning why he did not build the temple during his previous tenure in power.
