Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das remanded to 5 days’ judicial custody; Ajinkya Shinde released; Deepke lashes out at the government.
A new turn has emerged in the CJP’s ongoing agitation in Delhi, which centers on allegations of vote theft and demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The court has remanded CJP members Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das to five days of judicial custody, while Ajinkya Shinde has been released on a personal bond. Following this action, CJP founder Abhijit Deepke targeted the government. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Shinde alleged an abuse of power, and the party’s legal head, Ratna Singh, termed the arrests illegal. On the other hand, the Delhi Police claims that Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das repeatedly violated Section 163 of the BNSS and breached the conditions of their bail bonds. Security has been stepped up in Delhi following the judicial custody of the leaders, and police forces have been deployed across several areas.
