Assault on Nishu Azad’s father: An attempt to woo the Backward Class and Dalit vote bank? Police accede to CJP’s demands.

A political uproar has erupted once again in Delhi over the assault on Sanjay Kumar, the father of Nishu Azad. Following an alleged assault during a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, a demonstration has now begun outside the Sansad Marg Police Station. After a day-long protest, the Delhi Police have accepted the CJP’s demands and assured that the accused will be arrested within the next 72 hours. The police have also promised to register a case under the SC/ST Act regarding the Nishu incident; however, a massive controversy had already been brewing over the matter even before the case was formally registered.
