Avinash Pandey in Spotlight Amid Major UP IPS Reshuffle; Had Slapped Protesters During Lalita Murder Case

Late Thursday night, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh carried out a major IPS reshuffle, transferring nine officers. Police chiefs of seven districts were changed as part of this exercise. However, the transfer of Meerut SSP Avinash Pandey has drawn the most attention. Pandey has been removed from the post of Meerut SSP and attached to Police Headquarters. BBGTS Murthy has been appointed as the new SSP of Meerut in his place.
