“Behen Thi Wo Meri…”: Hindustani Bhau Breaks Down After Shefali Jariwala’s Sudden Death at 42

Mumbai, India – June 28, 2025:
Popular actress and former Bigg Boss 13 contestant Shefali Jariwala has died at the age of 42, sending shockwaves across the entertainment industry. Her Rakhi brother, Vikas Fhatak, popularly known as Hindustani Bhau, was seen breaking down outside Cooper Hospital in Mumbai, where her body was sent for post-mortem.

Jariwala was reportedly found dead at her residence in Andheri. According to police, they received information around 1 AM, following which her body was moved to the hospital.

“Her body has been sent for a post-mortem. The cause of death is not yet clear,” said Mumbai Police in a statement.
Initial reports suggest cardiac arrest as the likely cause.

Hindustani Bhau’s Heartfelt Tribute

Outside the hospital, an emotional Hindustani Bhau shared his grief with the media:

“Behen thi wo meri… Soch bhi nahi sakte the ki aisa kuch hoga. Jo saal mein do-teen baar phone bajta tha, ab sirf naam bacha hai mobile mein… phone kabhi nahi bajega.”

Bhau and Shefali met in 2019 during Bigg Boss 13, where they developed a close sibling bond. Shefali had tied Rakhi to him every year, calling him her “father figure” and protector.
On last year’s Raksha Bandhan, Shefali had shared on Instagram:

“I always wished God would give me a brother. Thanks to Bigg Boss, Bhau came into my life… He loves me more than my blood brother ever could.”

A Career Remembered

Shefali Jariwala rose to fame with the 2002 chartbuster music video “Kaanta Laga”, which made her a cultural icon. She later starred in the 2004 Bollywood film “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.

She was also a familiar face on reality TV, participating in Nach Baliye 5 and 7 with husband Parag Tyagi, and later gaining wide recognition in Bigg Boss 13.

Parag reportedly rushed her to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital on Friday night, where she was declared dead on arrival.

The entertainment industry and her fans continue to mourn the untimely loss of a beloved performer, friend, and sister.
