BJP outraged by Rahul Gandhi’s use of the word ‘idiot’; Opposition claims no satisfactory answers were received.

The Anti-Paper Leak Amendment Bill 2026 was passed in the Lok Sabha, though the proceedings were marked by a massive uproar. Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi delivered a speech lasting nearly 50 minutes regarding the bill. During his address, he used terms like ‘idiot’ and ‘Andhbhakt’ (blind devotee) and alleged that the Home Minister had ordered the firing on students in Delhi. These remarks sparked a fierce protest from the ruling party. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju interrupted Rahul seven times, citing parliamentary rules, and demanded an apology from the Leader of the Opposition. The bill was eventually passed amidst the commotion, and the uproar in Parliament has now intensified the political atmosphere.
