Bulldozers and JCBs Take Action Against Encroachments in Sambhal
The administration has launched a major drive against illegal encroachments at the Chandausi intersection in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. JCB machines were used to remove roadside shops and structures as part of a road-widening and beautification project. According to the administration, a statue of Prithviraj Chauhan is to be installed at the Chandausi intersection. Several beautification works—including widening the intersection, constructing a pedestal, laying interlocking tiles, and installing fencing—will be carried out for this purpose. Electricity poles falling within the widening zone are also being relocated. The administration states that about 5–6 shopkeepers have voluntarily begun removing their encroachments, and the entire operation is being conducted with the cooperation of the shopkeepers.
