CAQM Cracks Down on Pollution: No Valid PUC, No Petrol or CNG in Delhi-NCR
From October 1, 2026, obtaining petrol, diesel, or CNG in Delhi-NCR could become difficult without a valid PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate. Under directives from the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), a system to check vehicle PUCs is being implemented at fuel stations across the NCR. ANPR cameras will scan license plates to verify the validity of the vehicle’s PUC; fuel will be dispensed only if the PUC is valid, while expired certificates will result in a denial of fuel.
