Controversy erupts in Maharashtra over Garba entry, demands to bar Muslims from participating in political events heat up
Desk: Politics has heated up in Maharashtra ahead of Navratri over the entry of Muslims into Garba and Dandiya events. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has appealed to Garba organizers to bar Muslims from participating. BJP leader and minister Nitesh Rane has also supported the VHP’s stance. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s wife, Amruta Fadnavis, has expressed a different view. She says there is nothing wrong with a Muslim coming to watch Garba peacefully. Now, differing statements are emerging on this issue from ruling and opposition leaders.
