Delhi: Major incident in Harsh Vihar; 2 dead after slab collapse, raising serious questions about building safety

A major building-related incident has occurred in Delhi’s Harsh Vihar. In the Milan Garden area, a portion of a roof—along with a newly constructed slab—collapsed while an additional floor was being built atop an old house. Two people trapped under the debris lost their lives. Following the incident, which took place on Sunday evening, teams from the Delhi Police, the Fire Department, the NDRF, and Civil Defence launched a rescue operation. After an overnight effort, the bodies of the two individuals were recovered from the rubble on Monday morning. Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra and Ashish Sood also visited the site.
