About three years into the marriage, Vaishnavi Gupta died under suspicious circumstances. The incident took place in the Gulariagarda neighborhood of Barabanki, where Vaishnavi Gupta—originally from Unnao—met her suspicious end. According to her family, Vaishnavi married Akash Gupta on February 15, 2023. It is alleged that 2 million rupees in cash and a diamond ring for the groom were given at the wedding; however, despite this, Vaishnavi began facing harassment over dowry demands immediately after the marriage.
