“Elections were held using ballot papers—how many seats did the Congress win?” – PM Modi’s jibe sparks Congress outrage.

MLC elections are currently a major topic of discussion in the country. Notably, PM Modi has taken a dig at the Congress regarding the results of these elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Congress over the outcomes of the Legislative Council (MLC) elections held across four states. In total, elections were conducted for 28 seats—spread across Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Karnataka—and the Congress failed to win a single one. Addressing this, PM Modi posted on social media: “MLC elections were held for 28 seats across four major states—Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Karnataka. The voting was conducted using ballot papers. Guess how many seats the Congress won?” The results and trends are now before you, but PM Modi’s post has left the Congress visibly incensed.
