FSSAI Ka Proposal: Non-Milk Products Ko ‘Paneer’ Naam Se Bechne Par Rok Ki Taiyari.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) ne non-milk ingredients se bane analogue products ko ‘Paneer’ naam se manufacture, sell, label ya market karne par rok lagane ke liye draft amendment propose kiya hai.

FSSAI ke mutabik, ‘Analogue in Dairy Context’ category mein registered/licensed products ko apne naam, labelling aur marketing mein ‘Paneer’ term discontinue karna hoga.

Ye abhi final ban nahi hai. Draft notification 22 September 2026 ko issue hua aur 23 September ko Gazette mein publish hua. FSSAI ne public aur stakeholders se objections/suggestions maange hain, aur draft ko Gazette publication ke baad 60 din ki period ke baad consider kiya jayega.
