High alert ahead of CJP protest: Delhi fortified; checks and barricading at borders
Security arrangements in the capital have been tightened following the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) announcement of a protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10. Delhi Police have detained some protesters attempting to gather at the site. Meanwhile, police are maintaining strict surveillance on the routes leading from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar. In view of the CJP protest, barricades have been erected at several Delhi borders, and intensive vehicle checks are underway. Security has been stepped up at the Loni, Chilla, Aya Nagar, and Badarpur borders, as well as on routes connecting Delhi with Faridabad and Gurugram; police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed. Delhi Police have not granted permission for the protest.
