India defeated Pakistan by 76 runs in World Cup as Virat Kohli scored another ton

The Indo-pak rivalry might have been stalled lately due to the political tension between the two countries, but cricketers from both the teams have entertained the fans with some quality action on the field.

Pakistan have an edge over the Indian team in terms of their overall head-to-head record in limited-overs cricket, but as far as World Cup is concerned, Pakistan are yet to win a match against the Men in Blue.

India's last win against Pakistan in an ODI came during a World Cup match in February 2015, where they defeated Misbah-ul-Haq and his team by 76 runs.

In the fourth match of ICC World Cup 2015, India scored exactly 300 runs batting first. Virat Kohli was the hero of Indian innings with a 107-run knock. Shikhar Dhawan (73) and Suresh Raina (74) also contributed with two good knocks.

After losing the wicket of Rohit Sharma (15) with just 34 runs on board, Kohli and Dhawan resurrected the innings with a brilliant 129-run stand for second wicket. After the left-hander was run-out, Kohli added another 100-run stand for third wicket with Raina.

Kohli was dismissed in the 46th over by Sohail Khan, not before India had put enough runs on board.

In reply, Pakistan never looked in control of the proceedings after Mohammed Shami removed Younis Khan (6) in the fourth over of the innings.

Ahmed Shehzad (47) and Haris Sohail (36) did try to rebuild innings by stitching 68 runs for second wicket but it wasn't enough. Misbah fought a lone battle with a 76-run knock but it proved to be futile with no support from other end.

Towards the end, Pakistan were bundled out for 224 in 47 overs.

Mohammad Shami was the pick of the Indian bowlers with a four wickets, while Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma scalped two wickets apiece.

Kohli was adjudged the Man of the Match for his stupendous ton.
