Karnataka Minister Basavaraj Rayareddy calls Islam “superior”; BJP and seers label the remark “anti-Sanatan”
A political row has erupted over a statement made by Karnataka’s Higher Education Minister, Basavaraj Rayareddy. While speaking at a mass wedding event for the Muslim community, Rayareddy described Islam as superior to other religions and expressed a desire to visit Mecca. Following the statement, the BJP lashed out at the Congress, terming the remarks an insult to Sanatan Dharma. Jagatguru Paramhans Acharya, the head of Tapasvi Chhavni, also launched a scathing attack on Rayareddy. Meanwhile, the opposition emphasized the importance of respecting all religions.
