A shocking incident has come to light in Nalanda, Bihar, where a brick-kiln contractor is accused of holding a laborer couple captive for six days, assaulting them over a sum of ₹1,000, and murdering the husband. Furthermore, the accused allegedly attempted to bury the body in a field to destroy evidence. The incident occurred in Paparnausa village under the Noorsarai police station area. According to the family, the contractor had given the couple an advance of ₹60,000 about four years ago to engage them for work at the brick kiln. The couple worked there for approximately a year, after which a balance of about ₹1,000 in wages remained outstanding. However, the contractor demanded around ₹4 lakh, including interest—a demand the couple refused to meet. Subsequently, the contractor pressured them, held them captive for six days, and brutally beat the husband, resulting in his death. It is also alleged that the accused buried the deceased’s body in a field. The police have registered a case against four individuals and are actively investigating the matter; they are questioning those connected to the incident and probing the allegations of murder and the concealment of the body.
