Lawyer raises fact-based questions regarding the Disha Salian suicide case; Bombay High Court sets a hearing date.

The Bombay High Court has raised significant questions regarding the police’s handling of the Disha Salian death case. The Court asked why the police limited the matter to a case of accidental death—despite the deceased’s father expressing suspicion about the circumstances of her death as early as 2020—instead of registering an FIR and conducting a thorough investigation. The Court also questioned the absence of any mention of severe injuries on the deceased’s body, noting that injuries are inevitable when falling from such a height (the 14th floor). The hearing was conducted by a division bench comprising Justices Bharati Dangre and Manjusha Deshpande, which was deliberating on a petition filed by Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian. Following these inquiries, Disha Salian’s father spoke to the media, shared the Court’s observations, and demanded the registration of an FIR against all the accused, including Aaditya Thackeray.
