Major action against NTA: Over 50 employees removed; three UGC-NET papers to be re-conducted

Following the NEET controversy, major action has been taken against the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding irregularities in the UGC-NET examination. According to the Ministry of Education, more than 50 employees have been removed from the NTA. Simultaneously, a large-scale reform process has been initiated to strengthen the examination system. A decision has been made to re-conduct the UGC-NET exams for English, Commerce, and Sociology following complaints regarding errors in the question papers for these subjects. Meanwhile, preparations are also underway to strengthen the NTA’s professional leadership structure as well as its technical and financial security systems.
