Security forces have achieved a major success in the Yusmarg area of ​​Budgam. Lashkar-e-Taiba’s top commander, Hashim Musa, was eliminated during ‘Operation Korag’. The Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and CRPF had launched a joint search operation based on intelligence inputs, which led to an encounter with the terrorists. According to security agencies, Hashim Musa was a Pakistani national, and his name had appeared on the list of suspects in the investigation into the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack. He was reportedly a former para-commando of Pakistan’s Special Services Group (SSG). The operation continues even after Musa’s elimination. Security forces suspect that three more terrorists are hiding in the area. Troops are continuing their search operation amidst the dense forests and hilly terrain.
