Major decision by Ram Mandir Trust: Religious committee reconstituted; seers to make decisions

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust held a significant meeting in Ayodhya on Wednesday, during which it decided to reconstitute its religious committee. Swami Govind Dev Giri, the Trust’s treasurer, will chair this new committee. Of the seven members, five seers will be from Ayodhya. The committee will make decisions on important matters concerning religious rituals and traditions associated with the temple. It was anticipated that the name of the Trust’s new General Secretary would be announced following Champat Rai’s resignation and that two long-vacant positions would be filled; however, no announcements regarding appointments to these posts were made after the meeting.
