A major incident occurred at a Ganga ghat in Maner, Patna, during the Karma-Dharma festival. Seven women, who had gone to the Haldi Chhapra Ganga Ghat to immerse ritual offerings, began to drown in the river’s strong current. During the incident, one woman managed to save four others using her saree, but one woman and two girls remain missing. Local divers, along with an SDRF team, are conducting a continuous search operation amidst the deep water and strong currents. Maner Police Station Sub-Inspector Vijay Pratap stated that the women had arrived for the immersion ritual when they began to drown; rescue operations are currently underway.
