Mamata Banerjee gets ‘conditional’ relief from Calcutta High Court; alleged money laundering case adds to TMC’s woes
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee received significant relief from the Calcutta High Court on Thursday. The High Court granted permission to operate the TMC’s three bank accounts, subject to the condition that operations be conducted under the supervision of a special officer appointed by the Court itself. The investigative agency, ED, had recently frozen the TMC’s bank accounts.
