Members of the Turk community prevented a Dalit Muslim from offering prayers; Sambhal SP expresses outrage…

An incident involving the obstruction of prayers at a mosque has been reported in Sambhal… It is alleged that members of the Scheduled Caste community were stopped from offering prayers at the mosque by individuals from the Turk community… The incident took place in Madli Samaspur village under the Sambhal tehsil… The aggrieved individual has also accused the mosque’s *Mutawalli* (caretaker) of refusing to let the Imam eat and declining to accept donations… The complainant, Mohammad Wasim, visited the district headquarters to lodge a formal complaint with District Magistrate Ankit Khandelwal and Superintendent of Police Krishna Bishnoi… The police have registered a case against Atiq Ahmed, Shane Alam, Aamir, Bholu, and Hafiz Maroof in connection with the matter.
