Mumbai Customs (Airport Commissionerate, Zone–III) ne 21 January se 29 January 2026 ke beech smuggling ke khilaf badi karवाई karte hue multiple cases detect kiye hain. In operations mein hydroponic weed (drugs), gold, diamonds aur foreign currency zabt ki gayi hai, jinki total estimated value ₹30 crore se zyada batayi ja rahi hai.

Customs officers ne spot profiling, APIS aur specific intelligence ke basis par 4 NDPS cases book kiye

Gold Smuggling Cases
Case 1 (27 Jan 2026):
Gold: 1470 grams (24 KT)
Value: ₹2.10 crore
Accused: 1 Bangladeshi transit passenger + 1 airport staff (HRPL – Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd.)
Modus Operandi: Body cavity ke andar gold conceal kiya gaya
Both arrested

Case 2:
Gold Cases
Gold: 2162 grams (24 KT)
Value: ₹2.89 crore
Passengers: 4
Modus Operandi: Kapdon ke andar gold chhupa kar smuggling

Diamond Smuggling
Case 3
Diamonds: 10,660 carats (2132 grams)
Value: ₹1.81 crore
Passenger: 1
Modus Operandi: Check-in baggage ke andar conceal

Foreign Currency Smuggling
Case 4
Total Value: ₹1.18 crore (INR equivalent)
Passengers: 4
Modus Operandi: Check-in aur hand baggage ke andar currency chhupayi gayi
