“My world has been shattered…” — Ketan’s mother writes an emotional letter to PM Modi.
Rakhi Agarwal, the mother of Ketan Agarwal—a real estate businessman from Pune, Maharashtra—has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, pleading for justice for her son following his murder. In the emotional email sent to the Prime Minister, Rakhi Agarwal wrote that she never imagined she would find herself in a situation where she had to seek justice for her own son. She wrote, “Like every mother, I too dreamt that Ketan would live a happy life, get married, and stay with us; instead, I had to perform my son’s last rites. My son was brutally murdered, and with him, my entire world vanished. Every corner of the house reminds me of him; the silence that has replaced his laughter serves as a daily reminder that he will never return. Twenty days after Ketan’s death, his father-in-law also passed away, unable to bear the grief of losing his grandson. Modi-ji, I am just a mother. I seek neither sympathy nor special concessions; I ask only for justice. Please do not let Ketan be reduced to merely a ‘case file.’ He was someone’s son, someone’s grandson, and someone’s brother, but to me, he was my whole world. I hope that one day, I will be able to tell Ketan that he has received justice.”
