No BS-VI, No Entry into Delhi: Rules to Change from November 1

To curb rising pollution in Delhi, new vehicle restrictions will come into effect starting November 1, 2026. Vehicles registered outside Delhi that do not meet BS-VI emission standards will be barred from entering the city. The restrictions will also apply to vehicles lacking a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC), inter-state buses that fail to comply with the regulations, and trucks that are merely passing through Delhi rather than having it as their final destination. BS-VI, CNG, and electric vehicles will be exempt from these rules. Let’s examine the potential impact of this decision on Delhi’s transport sector and its drivers.
