Non-veg banned in KGMU hostel messes and canteens; order sparks political controversy
A ban has been imposed on the cooking and serving of non-vegetarian food in the messes and canteens of all hostels at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), a prominent hospital in Lucknow; the college administration has issued an official order to this effect. According to the order, non-vegetarian food will neither be cooked nor served in any of the university’s hostel messes or canteens. Additionally, instructions have been issued to ensure adequate protein intake for students by making proper use of vegetarian protein sources.
