Opposition protests in Delhi; INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, holds a march; tight security deployed everywhere.
Opposition parties within the INDIA alliance, including the Congress, are organizing a protest march to the Supreme Court—dubbed ‘Chalo Delhi – March for Democracy’—over allegations of vote theft and purported irregularities. The opposition remains adamant in its demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Security arrangements in Delhi have been tightened in view of the opposition’s march. It has been decided to keep the entry and exit gates of six metro stations—including Janpath, Mandi House, Barakhamba Road, Central Secretariat, Rajiv Chowk, and Patel Chowk—closed. A heavy police force has been deployed around Jantar Mantar and Sansad Marg. The Delhi Traffic Police has also issued an advisory, urging people to set out with extra time in hand.
