Opposition questions PM Modi’s appeal to buy handloom products: “How can one afford this amidst such high inflation?”

Ahead of Handloom Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a video on social media urging citizens to promote indigenous and handmade products. Following the PM’s appeal, NDA leaders were seen organizing events across various states to promote handloom, and Chief Ministers of several states were spotted purchasing handloom products. Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal made purchases, UP CM Yogi Adityanath held an event and pledged to heed the PM’s call, and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel also bought handloom items. However, the opposition has reacted sharply to this appeal, questioning how, amidst such high inflation, a person can even consider buying handloom products when managing their own household expenses is the priority.
