Opposition’s plea against CEC contains 14 defects; BJP says, “Staging false theatrics on the streets is easy, but courts require facts and evidence.”

The INDIA bloc’s challenge against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has reached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court Registry has pointed out approximately 14 defects in the petition filed by 11 opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav. Lawyers representing the petitioners have now sought time from the Registry to rectify these defects and have requested that the matter be listed for hearing on Wednesday. Meanwhile, this issue has sparked a political debate. The BJP asserts that while it is easy to stage false theatrics on the streets, courts demand facts and evidence. Conversely, the Congress maintains that there are no serious legal or constitutional flaws in the petition.
