‘Owaisi’s opposition to UCC akin to opposing Islam’: Acharya Pramod Krishnam Ghaziabad, Sep 16 (IANS) After All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was bringing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to target Muslims across the country, spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam hit back at him, terming the former’s stand as similar to “opposition of Islam”. Speaking to IANS, Pramod Krishnam said: “Owaisi should realise that Islam has given clear directives regarding equality and unity. Islam states that everyone is equal. If Owaisi ‘sahab’ opposes the Uniform Civil Code, he is opposing Islam.” “When viewed through the lens of Islam, the UCC grants equal rights to everyone living in the country. That is the essence of justice, and that is what Islam teaches. So, Owaisi should study Islam before opposing the UCC,” he added. He asserted that all the discrimination based on caste, religion, language, skin color, or wealth—whether rich or poor—”goes against religion and is contrary to both Sanatan Dharma and Islam”. Meanwhile, regarding Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav’s statement that UCC stands for ‘Underground Communal Conspiracy’, the spiritual leader said: “Akhilesh Yadav has now realised that his ‘PDA’ (Pichhda (Backward classes), Dalit, and Alpsankhyak (Minorities) strategy won’t work anymore.” “The ‘PDA’ balloon has deflated, so before explaining the full form of UCC, Akhilesh should reveal the full form of ‘PDA’ which stands for ‘Propaganda, Dramatics and Anarchy’,” he remarked. Accusing the SP Chief of preparing a different pitch for the upcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh, Pramod Krishnam said: “Akhilesh should go to America, Switzerland, or Brazil and prepare for the 2032 elections instead of 2027.” Acharya Pramod Krishnam accused Akhilesh Yadav of attempting to emerge as the “sole leader” of the Samajwadi Party, after he took charge of the Lohia Trust. “The biggest blunder in this country is that a trust and a party formed in the name of socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia, has now become all about capitalism. In the Lohia Trust, senior (Samajwadi Party) leaders from Mulayam Singh ji to Shivpal Yadav ji and others have gradually been sidelined. Akhilesh ji wants to remain the sole leader, and he has almost achieved his objective… His objective was not to win elections but to become the sole leader of the Samajwadi Party. All his uncles have been sidelined,” the spiritual leader said.
