Pangsau Pass on the India-Myanmar border reopens after 6 years
In a move that further strengthens ties between India and Myanmar, the historic ‘Pangsau Pass International Market’—located on the India-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh—has formally reopened today after a long hiatus of six years. The market had been closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was inaugurated in a grand ceremony attended by Arunachal Pradesh’s Minister for Trade and Commerce, Nyato Dukam. Also present on the occasion were Laisam Simai (MLA, 51-Jayrampur-Nampong constituency), Mahesh Chai (MLA, Tezu), and senior officials from the Assam Rifles.
