Significant preparations are being made at the government level in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the upcoming 2027 assembly elections. The Yogi Adityanath government has taken a crucial step regarding the security of the state’s leaders. Based on security reviews and current intelligence inputs, the government has decided to enhance the security cover for 52 leaders. Plans are in place to provide bulletproof jackets to these 52 prominent state leaders, including former Chief Ministers Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav, as well as BJP MLA Sangeet Som—often described as a firebrand leader.
