PM Modi’s ‘Meeting Diplomacy’: From Ethiopia to the UAE—Key Issues Discussed
The 18th BRICS Summit is being hosted by India in New Delhi. Alongside the main BRICS proceedings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rapid series of bilateral meetings with heads of state from various nations has also drawn significant attention. PM Modi held crucial meetings with leaders from Ethiopia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the UAE. Discussions during these meetings covered topics such as defense cooperation, defense procurement, investment, mining, semiconductors, the BrahMos missile, and strategic partnerships. The focus with Ethiopia was on strengthening defense and economic ties, while talks with Malaysia centered on semiconductors and investment opportunities. Discussions with Vietnam explored the prospects of a BrahMos missile deal, and talks with the UAE focused on further strengthening India’s growing strategic relationship with the country.
