According to recent amendments in the Motor Vehicle Act, you do not need to physically carry a driving license as you can present a digital copy of your license on your phone through apps like DigiLocker or mParivahan, which is considered equally valid as the physical document; meaning you don’t need to show a physical driving license to authorities when asked.
