The political climate in UP continues to heat up over the issue of ‘SIR’ (voter registration/electoral roll entries). SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav has once again launched an attack on both the BJP and the Election Commission. Akhilesh Yadav pointed out that, despite the claims made regarding ‘SIR’, the discovery of 10 votes registered to a single individual is not a minor error, but a major, glaring lapse. He alleged that whenever the BJP faces the prospect of defeat, it joins hands with the Election Commission. Meanwhile, UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has hit back at these allegations. Maurya stated that the BJP does not engage in the practice of adding fraudulent votes; rather, he asserted that the people of the country have stopped voting for the mafia and goons, which has left these individuals feeling rattled and desperate.
